Samsung Electronics mentioned on Sunday that it’s going to introduce new, modern devices in San Francisco on February 11, with the electronics titan broadly expected to reveal its new foldable smartphone and a brand new version of its flagship S model.
The transfer comes because the world’s prime smartphone manufacturer seeks to keep up its lead in the foldable smartphone and 5G phone marketplaces, with competitors plotting a catch-up in the budding, yet rising segments.
“Samsung Electronics will introduce new, innovative units that will form the next decade of cellular experiences,” the South Korean agency mentioned in an invitation letter. It added the event at 11 a.m. Pacific Time will be dwell-streamed.
In a teaser image, Samsung hinted at two smartphones – one shaped like a square and one other with a rectangular form.
In October, Samsung Electronics introduced its new foldable smartphone idea that folds vertically like a previous flip phone. Its first foldable phone, which folds horizontally, was rolled out in September after delays brought on by display hinge problems.
Samsung Electronics has traditionally launched new variations of its flagship Galaxy S phones ahead of the Mobile World Congress, which happens in February.
A Samsung spokesperson declined to reveal which version said it should be unveiled at the upcoming event.
